Correspondence with North West MEPs
Mark still hasn't received a reply from the letter he wrote to Paul Nuttall MEP asking for his and for UKIP's views on the NHS and TTIP following his previous comments.
He has also contacted the other NW region MEPs seeking their views on TTIP. So far he has only received responses from Sajjad Karim MEP who doesn't oppose TTIP, and Steven Woolfe MEP who is neither for or against it.
It's a pity that Mark can't report on a response from LOUISE BOURS, JACQUELINE FOSTER, THERESA GRIFFIN, AFZAL KHAN, or JULIE WARD. It seems that they were only too keen to secure our votes in May this year - they are in the European Parliament to represent us!
Read the letter to Paul Nuttall MEP here, and feel free to comment below. Others constituents in the North West may wish to write in similar terms.

Dear Mr Nuttall
Given the increasing publicity regarding the future of the NHS, I am writing to you as one of my MEPs particularly in light of one of your previous online comments:
‘The problem, however, goes far deeper. I would argue that the very existence of the NHS stifles competition, and as competition drives quality and choice, innovation and improvements are restricted.’
In the same post you praised the privatisation of parts of the National Health Service.
I should be grateful if you would offer some clarification on whether:
1. You remain committed to the privatisation of the National Health Service.
2. You support the inclusion of health contracts within the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP), given the growing concerns among healthcare professionals as well as patients’ groups.
As well as your view speaking as a North West region MEP I should be grateful if you would clarify whether you speak an individual or in your capacity as Deputy Leader of the UKIP.
I should also be interested to know when we can expect to see UKIP’s detailed proposals for the future of the National Health Service.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours sincerely
Mark Hayhurst
